Hi, I'm MD Romael Haque

I'm a Ph.D. candidate at Marquette University specializing in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI). My research is centered around the responsible design of technology, with a focus on evaluating the impacts and potential risks of technologies such as mobile mental health applications, artificial intelligence (AI), and digital privacy using different qualitative and quantitative methodologies. I have strong critical thinking skills and excel at developing and executing research protocols at the intersection of technology and society, engaging diverse stakeholders to comprehend data context and unearth societal implications. Currently, I am working on assessing the effectiveness of mobile mental health applications from a user perspective. I aim to provide in-depth design recommendations for app developers to enhance the functionality and practicality of these interventions. My work often extends to support vulnerable populations, and in my current project, I’m collaborating with U.S. military veterans to develop mobile technology that improves peer-support interventions.
